    Date Posted: 01.09.2026

    Location: Edmonton, Alberta

    Team: Quality, Compliance & Operations

    Why this role matters

Terrestrial X is bending the cost curve of flight, defense, and space hardware with additive at the core and MANTIS as our platform. To scale responsibly, we need a QC & Compliance leader who treats quality, export controls, and data integrity as first-class features—not afterthoughts.

    What You’ll OwnQMS Leadership (AS9100/ISO 9001)

    • Own, operate, and continuously improve the QMS to AS9100D and ISO 9001.
    • Maintain controlled documentation: policies, SOPs, work instructions, forms, quality manual.
    • Lead internal audits and management reviews; coordinate external audits and certifications.
    • Drive AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP (as required), PFMEA/DFMEA, and risk-based thinking.
    • Run NCR/MRB/CAPA end-to-end with measurable effectiveness checks.

    Export Controls & Controlled Goods

    • Serve as the Export/Trade Compliance lead across Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and U.S. ITAR.
    • Establish and enforce procedures for jurisdiction/classification, licensing, TAA/MLAs, proviso management, and screening (countries, parties, end use).
    • Implement access-control rules (physical, digital, visitor) and data-segmentation for controlled technical data.
    • Maintain bulletproof records, audits, and training logs to meet CGP, ITAR recordkeeping requirements.

    ERP-Centric Quality & Traceability

    • Integrate QMS workflows with ERP/MES/PLM to ensure full digital thread traceability (BOM → traveler → inspection → CoC → shipping/export docs).
    • Build dashboards and KPIs (yield, DPPM, OTD, FPY, CAPA cycle time, audit findings) for exec and shop-floor visibility.

    Audits, Inspections & Customer Assurance

    • Plan and execute internal audits for QMS, CGP, and ITAR/EAR; coordinate cert body, customer, and regulatory audits.
    • Lead readiness, response, and corrective action plans that fix root causes—not symptoms.
    • Represent TX in customer quality/oversight reviews with credibility and detail.

    Non-Conformance, CAPA & Continuous Improvement

    • Lead robust root cause analysis (5-Why, Ishikawa, fault tree) and systemic CAPA.
    • Apply Lean/Six Sigma to reduce defects, shorten lead times, and increase FPY.
    • Trend data to anticipate risk and preempt issues before they materialize.

    Training, Culture & Security

    • Design and deliver role-based training: AS9100D, CGP, ITAR, handling of controlled technical data, and secure collaboration practices.
    • Maintain employee competency matrices, certifications, and recurrent training cadence.
    • Partner with IT/InfoSec on secure enclaves, DLP, and zero-trust access for controlled data (aligning with NIST 800-171 / CMMC where applicable).

    Who is Terrestrial X?

We’re not building a company for everyone. We’re building one for the relentless few.

Terrestrial X is a next-generation industrial platform born at the intersection of defense, energy, advanced manufacturing, and AI. We’re designing the infrastructure and technologies that nations, industries, and civilizations will rely on—not tomorrow, but ten years from now. We’re tackling problems that most people don’t even know exist yet.

We don’t do safe. We don’t do incremental.

We do first principles, forward deployment, and foundational change.

If you’re looking for balance, comfort, and a “workplace culture” that prioritizes ping-pong tables and personal branding—this isn’t it.

We don’t hire divas. We hire builders.

People who want to work on mission-critical systems, not mission statements.

People who will stay up late for a prototype and show up early for a field test.

People who don’t need permission to solve a problem that matters.

    We’re not a startup. We’re a strike team.

We’re building vertically integrated supply chains. Decentralized power systems. AI-native industrial platforms. Mobile and modular manufacturing infrastructure. Dual-use technologies for hard domains—offshore, orbital, and operational.

    And we’re just getting started.

Terrestrial X is built different—because the future demands different.

If that sounds like you, then let’s go.

Location: Edmonton, AB (with travel for testing & partner sites)

    Type: Full-time or contract

    About the Role

    What You’ll Do

    • Define requirements to meet flight envelope
    • Architect the system across airframe, propulsion, sensors, C2, and autonomy.
    • Ensure interoperability with CUAS C2 networks (SAPIENT, Link 16, JREAP-C, Cursor on Target).
    • Manage suppliers and partners, ensuring parts are modular and manufacturable at scale.
    • Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and verification campaigns.
    • Oversee range and flight tests — from prototype to military-useful demonstration.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 8+ years in aerospace, defense, or UAV systems engineering.
    • Proven program delivery in multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Strong MBSE / SysML background; requirements traceability.
    • Experience integrating systems with tactical C2 standards.
    • A builder’s mindset: comfortable in design reviews, lab benches, and test ranges.

    Why Join

This role is not just about engineering — it’s about shaping a program from zero to fielded capability. You’ll have the chance to build something that matters.
